The improvement of our environmental footprint throughout our products' life cycle is a key strategic priority for sustainable development.
To achieve our environmental goals, we have long been implementing a well-founded and efficient Environmental Management System in the cement plants we operate in Greece.
We were one of the first Greek companies to adjust this system to the requirements of the ISO 14001 international standard, which sets out the criteria for an efficient environmental management system, and were certified by an independent accredited body in 1998.
We always seek ways to minimize the adverse impact of our activities on the environment and to improve in such areas as:
- The mitigation of air emissions.
- The reduction of water consumption.
- The protection of biodiversity in areas where we engage in production activities, as well as quarry rehabilitation.
We invest in state-of-the-art technology for our continuous improvement and in order to ensure that we fully comply with Greek and international law as well as our voluntary commitments.
Our annual evaluations and regular reviews help us redefine our procedures; identify potential risks; and plan initiatives and actions which provide solutions to address the needs of local communities.
