Gefyra

A new preparation model.

The “GEFYRA” (Greek Enterprises For Youth Reinforcement Acceleration) programme was developed by the CSR Hellas Network, turning to account the experience from its participation in the “European Pact 4 Youth” initiative.

The programme aspires to create a new model which shall allow companies to provide high-standard apprenticeship, internship and traineeship posts that shall suitably prepare candidates for employment. The goal is to turn many of these posts into permanent jobs, decreasing the skills gap as a contribution to confronting youth unemployment and curbing the brain drain phenomenon.

TITAN, as one of the initiators of the “GEFYRA” programme, has undertaken a commitment to provide a specific number of paid jobs, to integrate the quality criteria of the programme into its relevant actions, to contribute to its promotion and to develop a collaboration framework with the academia for joint action.

Moreover, we are one of the sponsors of the development of the digital platform that shall support the interface between job supply on the part of the enterprises and the corresponding demand on the part of young people.

With this programme, young people have the opportunity to develop and self-assess their skills, gain experience, prepare the ground for entering the labour market and get in touch with the business community.

The “GEFYRA” programme was presented on a pan-European level at the 1st European Business-Education Summit on 23 November 2017 in Brussels, as our country’s contribution to the issues surrounding the skills gap and youth unemployment.
