7th LEADERSHIP FORUM

The seventh Leadership Forum to be staged at our Kamari plant in Boeotia was held on 22nd May 2008. The successful event was the latest in a series launched back in 2002 as part of the TITAN centenary programme. To date seven Forums have been organized at the Kamari plant, and four in Thessaloniki.

The objective of these Forums is to help future managers of our economy to appreciate the real conditions they will be meeting in the business world and in international markets. They are also given the opportunity to exchange ideas and concerns with representatives of the business and academic communities.

This latest Forum was attended by 160 students enrolled in postgraduate programmes at the Athens University of Economics and Business, the University of Piraeus, the Capodistria University and the Athens Laboratory of Business Administration – ALBA.

Students and speakers were welcomed by Dimitris Kemos, Manager of the Kamari plant, and listened to a speech by Dimitris Papalexopoulos, Managing Director of the TITAN Group, in which he explained the objectives of the Leadership Forum.

The Forum featured two round-table discussions on topics selected by the students themselves.

The first session, on the subject Top companies: Selection criteria and conditions for employment, was introduced by Konstantinos Axarloglou, Asst. Professor of International Business Relations and Strategy at ALBA, and addressed by the speakers Athanasios Avramopoulos, General Director of ΗΑΥ Group Hellas, and Giorgos Korres, Chairman and Managing Director of Korres S.A. Plant Products.

The second session – Balancing the demands of career and personal life – was introduced by Maria Vakola, Associate Professor of Organizational Psychology at the Athens University of Economics and Business, and addressed by Stelios Stavridis, Managing Director of Piscines Ideales S.A. and Varvara Panagopoulou, Director of Human Resources at Vodafone-Panafone S.A.

The students were also given a tour of the Kamari plant, while during lunch they had the opportunity to discuss informally with the coordinators, guest speakers and TITAN executives.
