MEASURES TO ASSIST AREAS AFFECTED BY THE FIRES

From the first hours of the outbreak of terrible fires which have swept Greece over the last few days, the TITAN Cement Group has placed at the disposal of the authorities vehicles and equipment to assist in the work of extinguishing the flames. It has also organized the dispatch of food to the affected areas to be followed up by supplies of household items and equipment.

These measures will remain in place in order to help meet the urgent needs of the population in the devastated areas.

In order to provide direct support for the work of reconstruction, return to normality and the restoration of the natural environment, the Group has decided:

  1. To undertake to plant 1,000,000 trees in areas designated by the competent authorities. In order to meet this target, the Group will immediately take steps to expand the nursery areas where its young trees are grown.
  2. To make available Group products to the value of 1,000,000 Euro for flood prevention projects and the reconstruction or repair of local authority buildings, schools, health centres, gyms and other public buildings in the Peloponnese. The programme will be launched immediately, in collaboration with prefectural and municipal authorities and other competent agencies.
  3. To deposit immediately into the National Disaster Relief Fund the sum of 1,000,000 Euro.

Finally, the Group will support the initiative already taken by its own employees, in Greece and abroad, to donate money for the fire victims. The amount donated by our workforce will be matched by the Company and the money will be used to finance actions and measures in support of the affected areas, to be decided on in due course.
