Post-Graduate Students and Businessmen Meet at the 9th “Graduate Students’ Forum” of TITAN in Efkarpia
“The next step for getting employment”
The transition from education to employment was the main subject discussed at the 9th “Graduate Students’ Forum” which was held on 5 April 2014 at the TITAN plant in Nea Efkarpia of Thessaloniki, the annual event organized by the Company and aimed at building a bridge between post-graduate students and the business community.
Distinguished business executives, using examples from their career path, passed on to post-graduate students practical knowledge, along with inspiration and technical advice on how to get a job, mainly through the social media. Furthermore, the students attended the presentation of a report entitled “Education to Employment”, which was carried out by McKinsey & Company on a European level. The report, among other things, analyzes issues related to the problem of youth unemployment and the existing skill deficit, as well as ways to support young people in their quest for a job in the labour market.
The event saw the participation of 130 post-graduate students from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, the University of Macedonia, the Anatolia College of Thessaloniki (ACT), the International Hellenic University (IHU) and the ICBS Business College.
The speakers who honored the event with their presence were: Christos Georgiou (Director of the Federation of Industries of Northern Greece), Panagiotis Georgakopoulos (Associate Principal, McKinsey & Company), Dimitris Stratakis (Managing Director U&S UNISMACK S.A.), George Gatos (Business Development, Co-Founder Director, INCREDIBLUE), Fanis Varvoglis (Chair of the Anatolia Business School – American College of Thessaloniki), Fanis Georgiadis (Manager, Executive search and selection, ICAP of Thessaloniki) and Vassileios Velkos (Career Services Manager of kariera.gr).
