TITAN working together with the Smile of the Child Charity Corporate Social Responsibility and Voluntary Action
One of the leading companies in the fields of voluntary action and corporate social responsibility, TITAN has now signed – on 14/01/2011 – an agreement in which it pledges to support the work of the AMBER ALERT programme, a nationwide scheme for tracing missing children, run by the Smile of the Child organization. The agreement is backed not only by TITAN Cement S.A., but also by all members of the TITAN Group based in Greece.
When a child is abducted or reported missing, speed is of the essence. It is vital that information about the missing child be communicated to as many people as possible – especially in remote regions of the country. Whenever an Amber Alert is called to signal that a child is missing, TITAN will pass on the information to as many points and recipients as possible, in as short a time as possible.
As part of this commitment, TITAN will inform and coordinate the actions of all the operational facilities it runs in Greece – 4 cement production plants, more than thirty concrete units, more than fifteen quarries and mines, four distribution and storage centres, company head offices, etc.). More than 600 company drivers across the country will help in the search for the missing child, as well as all employees out on the roads as part of their job.
