ERYSICHTHON – A CONTEMPORARY READING OF THE MYTH

The exhibition Erysichthon - a contemporary reading of the myth opened on Monday 5th July, to great critical acclaim, at the Leonidas Canellopoulos Cultural Centre in Elefsina.

A number of leading Greek artists have contributed works to the exhibition, offering their own interpretations of the mythical figure Erysichthon, notorious for his insatiable greed, his blasphemy and irreverence.

The myth is transposed into the present day, highlighting its relevance to the conduct of contemporary man, emphasizing the need to show real respect for the natural environment in every aspect of our daily lives.

Featuring a wide range of impressive works, including sculptures, paintings and interactive media, the exhibition will appeal to visitors of all ages and will raise awareness of the need to preserve our natural environment.

The exhibition will run from 5th July to 3rd October.
Open: Daily from 10:00 to 14:00 and 18:00 to 22:00
