TITAN CONTINUES ITS DONATIONS OF TREES
In the wake of the disastrous forest fires of recent years, TITAN Cement S.A. promised immediate aid of 1.000.000 euros to those affected by the fires, and, in the longer term, pledged to supply young trees to replace those destroyed.
The direct financial aid was made available as promised, and the Company is now engaged in supplying young trees from its nurseries to areas which have requested them and are ready to plant them.
Among these areas is the island of Rhodes, to which, collaborating with the local Prefecture, we have so far supplied 72,500 trees for planting, the species carefully chosen so as not to disturb the indigenous flora of the region. With the help of TITAN, ably assisted by the Prefecture, which has undertaken to protect the newly planted trees and ensure their survival, the island of the Crusader Knights is slowly but surely healing the scars left by the forest fires.
