The modern history of Elefsina unfolds in the L. Canellopoulos cultural center

Hundreds of members of ΤΙΤΑΝ, the local community, and other prominent guests gathered on Thursday, July 6 at the "Leonidas Kanellopoulos" Cultural Center, in Elefsina, to celebrate the opening of the exhibition "Elefsina: the visitor’s glance". Exhibits included engravings, drawings and photographs signed by travelers, artists, archaeologists, and photographers who visited the area, offering a virtual “tour” in Eleusis modern history, from the late 17th century to the first decades of the 20th century.

As Nellos A. Kanellopoulos noted in his greeting, "Every year TITAN Cement organizes an art exhibition in memory of Leonidas Kanellopoulos who had served for many years as president of the Company. The event takes place in the Cultural Center of Elefsina that bears his name. This year's exhibition is directly related to Eleusis, highlighting the modern history of the city, that is often overshadowed by the glamor of its past."

Exhibits belong to the private collection of the Eleusinian collector G. Pavlopoulos, while displayed are also rare editions of books from the collection of the also local collector K. Kalliantas.
