ANNOUNCEMENTS: 4th LEADERSHIP FORUM IN THESSALONIKI

The fourth Leadership Forum to be staged in Thessaloniki took place at the N. Efkarpia plant on 30th November 2007. The successful event was the latest in a series initiated back in 2002 as part of the TITAN Cement Company centenary programme. To date six Forums have been held at the Kamari plant in Boeotia, and four in Thessaloniki.

The purpose of these Forums is to help future managers of our economy to understand the real conditions they will be dealing with in the business world and in the international market. The events also give them the opportunity to exchange ideas and opinions with representatives of the academic and business communities.

This latest Forum was attended by one hundred postgraduate students from the University of Macedonia, the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and the Thessaloniki American College. Students and speakers were welcomed by Dimitri Papalexopoulos, CEO of the TITAN Group, and John Hatzidimitriou, Professor at the University of Macedonia.

The Forum involved two round-table discussions on issues chosen by the students themselves.

The first session, on the subject Career moves abroad for executives: Challenges and prospects, was introduced by John Hatzidimitriou, Professor at the University of Macedonia, and addressed by the speakers Aris Papadopoulos, CEO of TITAN AMERICA, and Periklis Venieris, Regional Director of Coca Cola Hellenic Bottling Co. (CCHBC).

The second session – The work-life balance – was introduced by Evgenia Petridou, Professor at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, and addressed by the speakers Jenny Kotsida, HR Director of the Unilever Group, and Christos Komninos, CEO of Shelman.

The students were also given a tour of the N. Efkarpia plant, while during lunch they had the opportunity to talk informally with the coordinators, guest speakers and TITAN executives.
