Sarantis Karavouzis "SOUNDS OF SILENCE"
A standing out painting exhibition at the "Leonidas Kanellopoulos" Cultural Center of Elefsina
Two years after the inauguration of the "Leonidas Kanellopoulos"
Cultural Center of Elefsina, faithful to its commitment to hold there, every year, an arts’ event, TITAN collaborated with the Municipality of Elefsina to organize the Sarantis Karavouzis “Sounds of Silence” painting exhibition.
The exhibition was inaugurated on July 5, honoring the birth anniversary of the late Leonidas Kanellopoulos, for many years President of TITAN, whose name, life, and activities were inextricably linked with the city of Elefsina.
The inauguration was attended, among others, by many TITAN’s executives and by the Mayor of Elefsina, George Ambatzoglou, who thanked our Company for its wide support to the city and for the realization of the exhibition.
The exhibition includes paintings by S. Karavouzis, an internationally renowned contemporary Greek painter of the Greek immigration community who lives and works in France.
The event was carried out with the help of the distinguished collector Costas Ioannidis, President of the Municipal Gallery of Delphi, and Honorary Advisor of the Municipal Gallery of Chania (Crete), who was awarded by Nellos Kanellopoulos, Director of External Relations of TITAN Group, with a commemorative plaque for his contribution to the realization of the Elefsina’s Cultural Center exhibition. Curator of the exhibition was the art historian Bia Papadopoulou. As part of the event TITAN also sponsored a publication-tribute to S. Karavouzis.
In her introduction to the publication, Bia Papadopoulou writes that, "Karavouzis is led to a form of painting where the metaphysical atmosphere prevails. The magic of the colors, the imposing lighting, the perfection of the design and the placement of the objects in the space are representative characteristics of the whole of his work ".
