Sustainable Factory of the Year Grand Prize and 3 Gold Awards presented to TITAN at the Manufacturing Excellence Awards 2021
On 5 October, TITAN received the Sustainable Factory of the Year grand prize and three gold awards for separate areas of its business and environmental strategy, at the Boussias Communications Manufacturing Excellence Awards 2021, which highlight and celebrate the achievements of Greece’s industrial enterprises throughout the range of their operations.
The Sustainable Factory of the Year award is a special honour that showcases Titan’s outstanding performance and operational excellence in critical areas such as proper management of environmental challenges and carbon footprint reduction, promoting digital transformation, and contributing to the prosperity of local communities.
TITAN also won three gold awards:
- ESG Strategy: TITAN Group’s 20 environmental, social and governance (ESG) targets for 2025 and beyond focus on four pillars: De-carbonization and digitalization – Growth-enabling work environment – Positive local impact – Responsible sourcing.
- Smart Factory: TITAN implemented the “Cement Mill Optimizer (CMO)” digital transformation project in Greece, which optimises the real-time operation of the vertical cement mill, achieving a 7% increase in its production and a corresponding reduction in its specific energy consumption.
- Business Ethics & Corporate Social Responsibility: The “Nothing to Waste” business recycling initiative envisaged by TITAN’s plant in Efkarpia, Thessaloniki, along with 24 enterprises in Western Thessaloniki received an award for their multi-participatory circular economy and effective waste management program.
