Kitesurf Festival – TITAN in the skies
One weekend every year, “Eagle Beach” –which is adjacent to our Drepano plant– spreads its wings and becomes the centrepiece of a spectacular event, in which we have the joy and honour to be Grand Sponsors!
Kitesurfing is a sport which has become known in recent years, attracting a constantly growing number of devoted fans.
The “Kitesurf Festival” brings together brave people from all over Greece and from abroad and is organized by the Cape Drepano Sports Club and the Water Board Sports Festival (WBSF), under the auspices of the Region of Western Greece.
The aim of the sport is for athletes to use their body movement and the power of the wind in order to fly and jump over the surface of the sea with the help of their surfboard and colourful kite. The height and splendour of their flight depend on a number of parameters, including their familiarity with weather phenomena, since the wind is a crucial factor.
As Grand Sponsors:
- we have created within our plant a parking area for visitors;
- we charter minibuses to transport participants from the parking area to the venue;
- we financially support the event;
- we provide waste bins and other appropriate facilities.
Every year, the “Kitesurf Festival” attracts great interest, as the sport offers an exciting spectacle and plenty of action.
