As biodiversity loss increasingly enters public discourse, INTERBETON, a member of TITAN Group, contributes to its preservation through concrete action. At its Agrinio quarry in Greece, the company launched a pilot bee-adoption program titled “Bee-lding a Better World Together”, aiming to protect natural resources in areas of high biodiversity value.

In a designated, fenced area of the quarry, 20 beehives have been installed, hosting 400,000 bees. As the planet’s primary pollinators, bees transport and disperse pollen, multiplying existing plant life and strengthening local vegetation. Thanks to their contribution, they are expected to pollinate more than 1.7 billion plants and flowers annually.

The bee-adoption program is carried out in collaboration with Bee for Planet, a non-governmental organization specializing in bees and environmental education, which scientifically monitors their interaction with the area’s biodiversity.

Through the beneficial impact of bees, we enhance the biodiversity of the wider region and create a green, dynamic ecosystem—making the world around us safe, sustainable and enjoyable place to live.

The program received the Gold Award for Environment 2024 from Boussias.
